Frequently asked questions

What's the burn time of the Sand Wax?

The total burn time of your Sand candle can vary depending on how you use it. Are you relighting the same wick or replacing it with a fresh one each time? Do you burn one wick or several at once? How long do you let your candle burn before refreshing the wick? These factors all influence the overall lifespan of your candle.

That said, our sand wax burns slower than traditional candles. A 6oz bottle of your Sand offers up to 20 hours of burn time when used efficiently.

Each cotton wick is designed to burn for approximately 8 hours, and every 6oz order includes 15 wicks, giving you flexibility and extended enjoyment.

Does your sand contain toxic or harmful chemicals like those found in some traditional candles?

No way, Jose! We never use, parafin wax, phthalates and any other chemicals flagged by the CPSC as potentially hazardous. In fact, we go out of our way to avoid synthetic fragrances that may contain them. Our wax is 100% natural vegetable blend, finely processed into a smooth, sand-like texture. Our proprietary formula includes Natural Palm, Palm Oil, Palmitic Acid, and Essential Fatty Acids — nothing more, nothing harmful.

Is the Sand Wax safe for pets?

We know that your furry family members are a top priority, and their safety is important to us, too. Our sand is crafted with a natural, clean-burning vegetable wax. The fragrances we use are IFRA certified, meaning they adhere to the highest global standards for safety. They are also phthalate-free and paraben-free, avoiding common chemicals that can be a concern for pet health.

While our fragrances are held to a high standard, we always recommend following these best practices for a pet-friendly home:

  • Always place your scented sand in a well-ventilated area.
  • Keep the product out of your pet's reach to prevent accidental ingestion or burns.
  • Monitor your pet for any signs of irritation, such as sneezing or watery eyes, and discontinue use if needed.
What makes Sand Wax different from traditional candles?

Our Sand is reusable, customizable, and safer by design. It burns slower, allows you to change vessels, and self-extinguishes for added peace of mind—all while delivering luxurious fragrance and ambiance.

Do the wicks come with the Sand Wax? Do I need a wick holder?

Unlike traditional candles, our wicks are not anchored to the bottom of the jar—making them inherently safer. As the wick nears the end of its life, it naturally tips over into the melt pool and self-extinguishes. This built-in safety feature prevents the flame from reaching the bottom of the container.

While we always advise never leaving any candle unattended, our Sand design offers peace of mind: all order comes with 15 wicks that lasts up to 8 hours each wick, and thanks to our recommended setup—with at least three- four inches of space between the wick and the container’s base—the flame goes out safely before heat ever reaches the vessel.

A cleaner, safer, and smarter way to enjoy candlelight.

How long will the wick last?

Each cotton wick is designed to burn for approximately 8hours if used at full length, and every order includes 15 wicks, giving you flexibility and extended enjoyment. Depending on your vessel, you may need to cut the wick to length which will lessen your burn time.

Can I really use any container I want?

Yes! One of the best features of our Sand is its flexibility. Use any heat-resistant vessel—old candle jars, ceramic bowls, glass containers, or rustic wooden trays all work beautifully.

Is it safe to leave the candle burning?

While we never recommend leaving any flame unattended, our wicks are designed toself-extinguish. Since they aren’t fixed to the bottom of the container, they naturally fall into the melt pool once they burn down, safely putting themselves out before the heat reaches the container

Does the Sand Wax leave soot or residue?

No. Our wax blend burns cleaner than traditional candles—producing no soot, and leaving your space fresh and elegant without the mess.

My Sand smells so good I could eat it, can I?

Definitely not! Eating sand wax is a one-way ticket to a very bad day. While it may look tempting and smell incredible, it’s made from waxes, fragrance oil, and materials that are not safe to ingest. You could end up with serious stomach issues, chemical exposure, or worse.

So as tempting as it may be… light it, don’t bite it!

Can I put my wick in the bottle my sand comes in and light it up?

No! We know the bottle looks super cool and unique but, the bottle your sand comes in is packaging only — it’s not designed to withstand heat or open flame. Be sure to pour the sand into a heat-safe vessel of your choice before lighting.
